Torino, 18 luglio 2025 – Neva SGR, la società di venture capital del Gruppo Intesa Sanpaolo totalmente controllata da Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, ha partecipato a un round di raccolta da 79 milioni di franchi svizzeri (84 milioni di euro) di Nuclidium, società biotecnologica svizzero-tedesca specializzata in radiofarmaci di nuova generazione per malattie oncologiche. Il nuovo investimento consentirà a Nuclidium di accelerare lo sviluppo della sua innovativa piattaforma radioteranostica proprietaria a base di rame, che offre un approccio combinato alla diagnosi e al trattamento del cancro.

LO SVILUPPO DELLA NUOVA PIATTAFORMA RADIOTERANOSTICA

Nuclidium collega molecole mirate al tumore con isotopi di rame, Rame-61 per la diagnostica e Rame-67 per la terapia. Il targeting preciso consente una diagnosi o un trattamento più accurati e riduce il danno ai tessuti sani. Nuclidium si prepara a espandere la sua rete di produzione globale, a far crescere il suo team internazionale e a rafforzare le collaborazioni strategiche con ospedali e centri accademici, inizialmente in Europa e Nord America. La piattaforma realizzata supera le attuali limitazioni della radioteranostica, quali l’efficacia clinica subottimale e la complessità produttiva. I risultati diagnostici dei primi studi clinici mostrano un’individuazione più precisa dei tumori rispetto agli attuali traccianti e un migliore rapporto tumore/sfondo (masse  tumorali meglio visualizzate rispetto ai tessuti sani adiacenti), con un profilo di sicurezza favorevole.

I PRIMI RISULTATI

NUOVE FASI CLINICHE PER LA DIAGNOSI E IL TRATTAMENTO

Turin, 18 July 2025 – Neva SGR, the Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s venture capital company, a full subsidiary of Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, has participated in a CHF 79 million (€84 million) funding round for Nuclidium, a Swiss-German biotechnology company specialising in next-generation radiopharmaceuticals for cancer. The new investment will enable NUCLIDIUM to accelerate the development of its innovative proprietary theranostic platform, which provides a combined approach to cancer diagnosis and treatment. NUCLIDIUM links tumour-targeting molecules with copper isotopes – Copper-61 for diagnostics and Copper-67 for therapeutics. The precise targeting enables a more accurate diagnosis or treatment and reduces damage to healthy tissue.

Nuclidium is preparing to expand its worldwide production network, grow its international team, and strengthen strategic collaborations with hospitals and academic centres, initially across Europe and North America. The platform realised by Nuclidium overcomes the current limitations in radiotheranostics, such as suboptimal clinical efficacy and complex manufacturing. Diagnostic results from initial clinical trials in these indications show superior lesion detection and higher tumour-to-background ratios (tumour masses better visualized han adjacent healthy tissue), compared with clinically approved tracers, with a favourable safety profile. Early therapeutic data from the company’s two lead compounds, NuriPro and TraceNET, show strong tumour-to-background ratios in metastatic prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumours, including breast cancer.
